Puppy Foundations
Right now, life with your puppy might look like this:
Biting that turns your arms into chew toys
Bathroom “surprises” right after you come inside
Middle-of-the-night zoomies followed by 5am wake-up calls
Kids getting chased down by a fur-clad velociraptor
You didn’t get a puppy to spend your days exhausted and frustrated.
Stop Just Surviving. Start Raising the Puppy You Actually Dreamed About.
You got a puppy because you wanted a calm companion to take on trail walks, patio hangs, and family adventures. A pup who can snooze beside your desk while you work, not one you’re constantly mediating like a WWE referee.
Here’s the truth: well-behaved dogs aren’t born. They’re built.
And you don’t need hours a day, harsh corrections, or rigid drills to do it.
And Mission Paws Puppy Foundations is the blueprint to build yours — with the confidence, focus, and calmness that make real life together easy.
Most puppy classes focus on cues.
Puppy Foundations focuses on the skills that make daily life easier — calmness, focus, confidence, and communication — so your puppy is capable of performing those cues in the real-life situations.
How We Build It
Instead of drilling “sit, stay, down,” we build the skills that make puppy life actually easier:
1. Enjoyable Walks & Off-Leash Freedom with Focus
Loose leash foundations so you don’t dread going outside or lose your shoulder
Come-when-called building blocks because nothing feels better than letting your dog explore off-leash without worrying you’ll lose them
2. Calm as a “go-to” at Home & Out in the World
Settle anywhere: at home, on patios, during camping or road trips
Smart socialization to prevent reactivity, not create it
Clear communication so you both understand each other
3. Confidence for a Lifetime
Emotional regulation — so your puppy can think even when excited or nervous
Problem-solving skills — to handle new experiences without panic
How to navigate and ease everyday puppy struggles: biting, crate training, potty training, jumping, and living peacefully with kids, cats, or other dogs

Meet Your Trainer
Dear Dog Lover,
Samaya here (rhymes with “papaya”).
If you’ve recently brought home a puppy and are wondering how something so cute can also be this unhinged, I get it.
The biting, the zoomies, the pulling, the “I swear they know this… why aren’t they doing it?” moments.
It’s not that your puppy is stubborn or untrainable.
They just haven’t learned how to exist in the world yet.
And most puppy training?
It focuses on getting behaviours in perfect conditions, not helping your puppy stay calm, think clearly, and make good decisions when life gets exciting.
That’s where I come in.
I help puppy owners build calm, confident dogs by training the brain first — so skills like loose leash walking, come-when-called, and household calmness actually hold up outside your living room or in the face of unpredictable distractions.
No harsh corrections. No overwhelming routines.
Just simple, science-backed training that fits into your real life, and helps your puppy learn how to settle on their own, not just “sit” when told.
You didn’t get a puppy to feel constantly overwhelmed, managing a fur-clad velociraptor.
You got a dog to enjoy.
Let’s build that dog.
— Samaya & Mr. Vince
All Mission Paws Dog School training uses Positive Reinforcement - food/treats, play, toys, praise - to reward and encourage repeat behaviour. When done correctly this is a safe, kind, and extremely effective method to training. This is not about bribes or coercion. We are using the science of animal learning and neuroplasticity to reshape your dog's brain to choose the wanted outcome, meaning you have a dog who can respond to cues AND choose the desired behaviours on their own without being asked.
