Puppy Foundations
Monday August 11, 18, 25, Sept 8
5:30-6:20pm
Vic West Community Centre
521 Craigflower Rd.
Raise the dog you dreamed of—without confusion, stress, or second-guessing yourself.
You got a puppy because you imagined this life:
🐕 Peaceful walks through the woods
🍷 Chill hangs on the patio
🏕️ Adventures and cuddles with a dog who fits into your world
But right now, it might feel more like:
🦖 Constant biting and mouthing
🚫 Accidents right after coming inside
🗯️ Whining in the crate, chewing the furniture, and not knowing what’s normal anymore
This class helps you bridge the gap between where you are now — and the life of adventure and companionship you imagined.
What You’ll Learn (and why it matters):
In four weekly sessions, we’ll cover the real-life skills that make everyday living easier — now and in the future:
✅ Loose leash walking foundations— so you can actually enjoy your walks
✅ Off-leash foundations — for building strong off-leash habits early with a recall cue
✅ Calm settling — at home, in public, and when things get exciting
✅ Smart socialization — confidence-first to that helps prevent reactivity
✅ Mouthing, jumping & chewing — how to prevent bad habits from sticking
✅ Clear communication — so your puppy understands you, and you understand them
We’ll also support you through potty training, crate training, barking, separation/FOMO, car rides, living with kids, cats or other dogs, and more.
Why It Works
Most puppy classes focus on obedience.
We focus on raising a dog who’s ready for real life.
You’ll learn:
🎯 How your puppy’s brain works and how to support their development
🎯 How to prevent unwanted behavior before it becomes a pattern
🎯 How to raise a dog who’s calm, confident, and truly connected to you
We use positive reinforcement and games-based training rooted in behavioral neuroscience — so your puppy isn’t just doing what you say… they actually get it.

Ready to raise a dog who’s calm, confident, and easy to live with — from the very start?
Spots are limited and fill quickly!
All Mission Paws Dog School training uses Positive Reinforcement - food/treats, play, toys, praise - to reward and encourage repeat behaviour. When done correctly this is a safe, kind, and extremely effective method to training. This is not about bribes or coercion. We are using the science of animal learning and neuroplasticity to reshape your dog's brain to choose the wanted outcome, meaning you have a dog who can respond to cues AND choose the desired behaviours on their own without being asked.

Vic West Community Centre
In-Person Training Class
🏡 Teach your dog to stay grounded—literally!—with calm, polite greetings that don’t involve jumping, clawing, or chaos.
Does this sound familiar?
😬 You're constantly apologizing when your dog launches at guests at the door
😟 You stress every time grandparents visit, afraid your dog will knock them over
😤 You come home to a leaping dog before you can even put your bags down
🙈 Your counters are a free-for-all when your back is turned
🫠 You’re rattled by barking, fence crashing, and frenzied reactions to the delivery person, neighbors, or passing dogs
This class is for you if you’re ready to swap chaos for calm.
Imagine your dog:
🐾 Choosing to keep all four paws on the floor—even around exciting guests
👵 Greeting grandparents with wiggles and sniffs, not body slams
🎒 Letting you walk in the door and get settled without being mobbed
🚫 Ignoring counters because they know good things come from being calm
📦 Heading to their bed when the delivery person shows up instead of barking at the fence
You’ll Discover:
✔️ The 3 real reasons dogs jump—and why it’s more than just excitement
✔️ The core skills your dog must have to master calm greetings
✔️ Why yelling “OFF!” doesn’t work (and what to do instead)
✔️ How to build so much value in keeping 4 paws on the floor, your dog wouldn’t dream of jumping
✔️ How to protect dresses, countertops, coffee tables, and fences from flying paws
What’s Included:
🎓 Two in-person training classes focused on calm, polite behavior (50 minutes each)

Loose Leash LOVE walking your dog!
This class is for the dog who:
Starts pulling, jumping, barking or zooming with excitement the second you reach for their leash
Has their brain instantly 10 blocks ahead, pulling you down the street, into ditches to sniff, towards other dogs and people
Becomes “unreachable” when outside, like they’ve suddenly gone deaf
Won’t even take food outside, even cooked steak, so rewarding a “heel” isn’t even possible
Will even pull through a prong collar, martingale, or e-collar
You’re ready to:
Stop being dragged down the street as your frustration builds and your shoulder aches
Stop feeling disappointed the idea of your dogs walk and instead look forward to it!
Stop tripping over your own feet and instead move through the world with your dog as a team.
You will leave this class:
Knowing how to have your dogs focused attention from the second you reach for their leash and throughout your walk
With confidence knowing how to get your dog to choose you instead of pulling toward other dogs or sniffing in the ditch
Knowing how to give your dog a quality walk that exercises both their brain and their body without being dragged along like a train
Feeling like your dog’s teammate rather than their ball and chain
